Dynamic Discs Lucid Air Plastic
Lucid Air is Lucid with microbubbles worked into the blend. The bubbles displace plastic, which lets Dynamic Discs mould a full-size disc at a weight the solid version cannot reach — same shape, same translucent look, considerably less mass.
What the weight does
Less mass means less effort to get the disc up to speed, so a thrower who cannot make a heavy driver fly will see one of these turn over and glide. It also means the disc is easier for the air to push around: expect more turn, a longer finish, and real trouble holding a line into a headwind. Light discs reward calm days and smooth lines.
Feel and durability
The hand feel is Lucid — clear, firm, slick when wet. Durability is the honest trade-off. A disc with gas pockets in it has less plastic to absorb a tree hit than the solid version of the same mold, so Lucid Air dents and scuffs sooner. Treat it as a tool for a job, not a disc you expect to bag for a decade.
Best uses
New players, youth players, and anyone whose arm speed is the limiting factor on distance. Also worth a slot for seasoned players who want a dedicated turnover or roller disc, or a touch putter in the low 150s.
In the bag
Pick the lightest weight you can still control, not the lightest in the bin. If you want the same mold to hold its line in wind and survive the tree, Lucid is the solid version; Westside's VIP Air is the equivalent on the Westside side of the Trilogy family.
