The Innova Sidewinder is one of the most beginner-friendly distance drivers on the market, prized for its effortless turnover shots, long glide, and roller potential. With flight numbers of 9 | 5 | -3 | 1, this disc is perfect for players looking to add extra distance with less power or achieve smooth anhyzers and controlled rollers.
Its high-speed turn and gentle fade allow it to hold turnover lines longer than most drivers in its class, making it a go-to for shaping shots through tight woods or for players seeking to master distance drives with finesse. For lower arm speeds, the Sidewinder offers surprising distance. For advanced players, it serves as a reliable roller disc straight out of the box.
Among fans, the Sidewinder is affectionately known as the “Mountain Destroyer” for its long, understable flights that carve down wooded fairways with ease. While some plastics (especially Champion) tend to be more stable, Pro, DX, and GStar blends offer that classic Sidewinder flip and glide right from the first throw.
Whether you’re new to the game or just want a disc that’s easy to manipulate for turnovers and finesse shots, the Innova Sidewinder remains a trusted choice for control and distance alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Innova Sidewinder good for beginners?
Yes! Its understable flight and high glide make it ideal for new players who need help getting extra distance with lower arm speeds.
How does the Sidewinder compare to the Roadrunner or Valkyrie?
The Sidewinder turns more easily than the Valkyrie and is more controllable than the Roadrunner. It fits right between the two in terms of stability and utility.
Can the Sidewinder handle headwinds?
It’s not ideal for strong headwinds due to its -3 turn, but higher-weight or Champion plastic versions can handle moderate wind with proper technique.

Exactly what I ordered
A staple
The disc is amazing but way more stable than I wanted/needed. It’s my own fault though. I got the Champion plastic and it is known to be more stable than other plastic. Will be keeping it but will also be ordering another one that actually turns right for me.
I tried throwing a champion sidewinder, and it's safe to say this my roller disc!!! Maybe I'll try releasing it on a massive hyzer RHBH, you never know it might go super far!! Great disc for beginners, or people with low arm speeds.
