Flight Numbers

9Speed
5Glide
-4Turn
1Fade

Innova's signature turnover and roller driver. The Roadrunner flips fast, holds right-moving lines forever, and barely fades — it's the disc that adds distance to any arm speed and teaches you how to shape shots.

Why Throw the Roadrunner?

➡️

King of Turnovers

A -4 turn means the Roadrunner commits to right-moving lines (RHBH) better than almost any driver at this speed. Release flat and it drifts right. Release on anhyzer and it pans for days without dumping.

🏌️

Instant Distance for Any Arm

The Roadrunner doesn't need power to fly far. Its understable flight and glide compensate for lower arm speeds, giving beginners and intermediate players real 9-speed distance without fighting the disc.

🔄

Roller Ready Out of the Box

With -4 turn and minimal fade, the Roadrunner is one of the easiest discs to put on the ground for controlled rollers. Advanced players use it for distance rollers that cover 400+ feet with predictable ground play.

🌲

Woods Golf Shaper

The 1.8 cm rim feels like a fairway driver but carries like a distance driver. In tight woods, the Roadrunner lets you throw smooth hyzer-flips that stand up and hold the tunnel without needing a big run-up.

💨

Tailwind Bomber

Throw the Roadrunner into a tailwind and it stays up forever. The glide and turn work with the wind to produce some of the longest, laziest flights in your bag. Just keep the nose down and let it ride.

🏆

Gregg Barsby's Signature Disc

The Star Roadrunner is the signature disc of 2018 World Champion Gregg Barsby. It's been a staple in competitive bags for decades — trusted for tunnel shots, anhyzers, and finesse distance.

Plastics

Popular

Star

Premium • Grippy • Long-Lasting

Innova's flagship premium blend. Star Roadrunners fly true to the -4 turn and season slowly, keeping a consistent flight for months. Gregg Barsby's signature choice — balanced grip and durability.

Champion

Premium • Translucent • More Stable

Ultra-durable and stiff. Champion Roadrunners resist wear and run slightly more stable than Star out of the box. A good pick if you want the turnover flight with a touch more resistance to flipping.

Halo Star

Premium • Two-Tone • Tour-Level

Star durability with a contrasting Halo rim. Halo Roadrunners tend to start slightly more stable than stock Star, making them great for controlled hyzer-flips that don't turn as aggressively early on.

GStar

Premium • Flexible • Extra Grip

Softer and grippier than Star with added flex. GStar Roadrunners feel great in cold weather and tend to fly slightly more understable. A good option when you want maximum grip and easy flip.

DX

Baseline • Budget • Beats In Fast

Innova's most affordable blend. DX Roadrunners start understable and beat in quickly to become even flippier — perfect for dedicated roller discs or players who want max turn on a budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Same speed, same glide, same fade — but the Roadrunner has -4 turn vs the Sidewinder's -3. The Roadrunner flips earlier and holds right-moving lines longer. If the Sidewinder isn't turning enough for your arm speed, the Roadrunner is the natural next step. If the Roadrunner turns too much, go back to the Sidewinder.
At -4 turn, the Roadrunner is very sensitive to nose angle and power. If it's rolling, try releasing on more hyzer, keeping the nose down, and throwing with less power. You can also move to a heavier weight or more stable plastic like Champion or Halo Star. If it still flips too much, the Sidewinder (9/5/-3/1) may be a better fit.
It's one of the best first drivers for new players. The understable flight compensates for lower arm speed and adds distance that overstable discs can't match at low power. Just start with hyzer releases and let the disc do the turning — you'll be surprised how far it goes.
Release on a steep anhyzer angle with moderate power and keep the nose flat. The -4 turn catches the ground quickly and the disc rolls forward on a predictable line. DX and beaten-in Star Roadrunners make the best rollers — they flip onto the edge with less effort.
Champion is the most stable out of the box — it resists turn slightly more and seasons very slowly. Halo Star is close behind with a stiffer feel. Star is the balanced middle ground. GStar and DX are the flippiest and will beat in the fastest.
Not recommended. The -4 turn makes the Roadrunner extremely wind-sensitive — headwinds will flip it over and turn it into a roller. Save it for calm conditions, tailwinds, and downwind shots. For headwinds at speed 9, reach for a Valkyrie, Thunderbird, or Firebird.
The Valkyrie (9/4/-2/2) is significantly more stable — less turn, more fade, and better wind resistance. The Roadrunner is flippier and glidier for turnovers and rollers. Many players bag both: Valkyrie for straighter lines and moderate wind, Roadrunner for anhyzers and pure distance in calm air.
