Innova Toro

Innova Toro is a flat-top, overstable approach disc built for control in wind. It was co-designed with Calvin Heimburg. It’s made to handle real torque.

The Toro lives in the “trust it” slot. It is slower than a midrange driver, but faster than most throwing putters. It shines when you want a clean release and a hard finish.

Thrown flat, the Toro pushes forward on a short, controlled window. Then it bites and fades with intent. That makes it great for approaches that must land left and stay safe.

On a hyzer, it feels automatic. It holds the angle and gets to the ground on time. You can throw spike hyzers to guarded greens. You can also play skip finishes on firm ground.

Forehand players love the Toro. The flat top feels fast out of the hand. The overstability keeps the disc from wobbling off line. It is built for touch forehands and power forehands.

The Toro also fits short flex lines. Put it on a small anhyzer and it fights out early. You get a reliable “bend then fade” shape. This is useful when a straight shot is not available.

If you already bag a Zone or Harp, Toro gives you an Innova-flavored option. It is very confident in wind. It is also easy to range once you learn its low glide.

Flight: 4 | 2 | 1 | 3. Low glide with dependable fade for forehands, windy approaches, and must-finish lines. Official Toro overview

Why throw the Innova Toro?

  • Wind-fighting approach control with a predictable finish.

  • Point-and-shoot hyzers that land on time.
  • Reliable flex approaches that always fight back.
  • A true utility approach disc for high-pressure placement shots.

Plastics

Star: Grippy premium feel with long-term durability. Great for confident releases in all weather.

Champion: Firm, very durable premium plastic. Great when you want the Toro to keep its stability longer.

Special runs: Limited drops often show up in Halo Star, I-Dye Star, and glow-style Champion blends. Tour Series runs in Proto Glow Champion also appear. Pro blends like KC Pro and Soft Pro show up for added grip and faster seasoning.

FAQs

Toro vs Zone: which one should I bag?

They cover a similar “overstable approach” job. Toro is flatter and very forehand friendly. Zone has more glide and a different hand feel. Choose the one you release cleaner.

Is the Toro more like a throwing putter or a midrange?

It sits between them. It has approach speed, not full midrange carry. It feels faster than a Rhyno, but slower than a Caiman.

What shots is the Innova Toro best for?

Forehand approaches, windy upshots, spike hyzers, and skip finishes. It is also great for short flex lines that must fade back.

Which Toro plastic should I choose for the most overstable flight?

Champion-style runs tend to hold stability the longest. Star gives you more grip with a slightly softer feel. Glow and Halo-style special runs often add extra bite.

How do I keep the Toro from dumping too early?

Give it height or aim for a flatter landing zone. Keep the nose down and throw smooth spin. If you still need more carry, disc up to a Caiman.
