Disc Spotlight - Axiom Crave

The Axiom Crave is a neutral-to-straight 6.5-speed fairway driver built for controlled distance and effortless accuracy. It shines on laser-straight fairway lines, hyzer flips, and clean placement shots in the woods. It also works well for touch forehands when you keep the release smooth.

What the Crave Is Designed to Do

The Axiom Crave is made to fly like a "worn-in workhorse" right out of the box. It's faster than a midrange, but not demanding like a high-speed driver. Thrown flat, it holds a tight line with a gentle finish. Thrown on hyzer, it pops up and cruises straight without drifting wildly.

If you want a fairway you can trust for shaping and accuracy, this is the slot it owns.

How the Crave Flies (By Power Level)

~240–300 ft

Straight flight with a small, dependable fade. Best results come from slight hyzer to keep it centered.

~300–350 ft

Easy hyzer flips to flat with a long, neutral push. Flat releases fly straight and finish softly forward.

350+ ft

More turn shows up on flat releases, especially in lighter weights. Add more hyzer or choose a more stable plastic.

Best Uses for the Crave

  • Laser-straight fairway lines (signature shot) — Throw it flat with clean spin. It stays on the line you put it on and finishes gently. This is the "hit the gap" fairway driver.
  • Hyzer flips for effortless distance — Give it a comfortable hyzer and let it stand up. It flips to flat and glides forward without needing full power.
  • Controlled turnovers that don't dump — Release flat or with slight anhyzer. The Crave drifts right on RHBH but doesn't feel as touchy as flippier fairways.
  • Touch forehands and placement shots — It's money for controlled sidearms where you want straight push and a mild finish. Keep it smooth and it holds up well.

Plastics: What to Choose (And Why)

Availability changes, but these are common Crave options:

Plastic Feel & Use
Neutron Balanced grip and durability. A great "main" Crave for everyday fairway work.
Proton Often the more stable option. Choose Proton if you want less turn and more hold under power.
Plasma Premium feel with a slightly more workable flight. Great when you want easy flip-up and glide.
Fission Lighter weights with added glide potential. Great for developing arms or easy distance and shaping.
Eclipse (Glow) Glow performance with a reliable, controlled flight. Great for night rounds and consistent fairway placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. It's a great touch-forehand fairway because it resists wobble well when thrown clean. If you're overpowering it, try Proton or a heavier weight.
In most bags, the Servo finishes harder and handles wind better. The Crave holds straight longer with a more forward, gentle fade.
The Relay turns more and is easier to flip for lower power. The Crave is straighter and holds up better when you add torque or speed.
Start with Neutron for the most balanced "true to numbers" flight. If you want straighter under more power, lean Proton. If you want easier flip-up, try Plasma or lighter Fission.
Many intermediate players land it in the high-200s to low-300s with control. Strong arms can push it farther while keeping a tight fairway line.
