Flight Numbers

12Speed
6Glide
-3Turn
2Fade

Paul McBeth's understable distance bomber. The Hades flips up from hyzer, rides on massive glide, and finishes with just enough fade to stay in play — effortless distance for a huge range of arm speeds.

Why Throw the Hades?

🚀

Effortless Max Distance

A glide of 6 and -3 turn mean the Hades stays in the air longer than most distance drivers. It adds free yards without needing elite power. Players who can't fully power a Zeus often throw the Hades farther.

🔄

Hyzer-Flip Machine

Start on slight hyzer and the Hades stands up to flat on its own, then rides straight with a long, drifting carry. It's one of the best hyzer-flip distance drivers in the game for clean, full-flight S-curves.

🌊

Sweeping Turnovers

Need the disc to pan right for 400 feet without dumping? The Hades holds turnover angles beautifully. Release flat or on gentle anhyzer and it drifts where you aim with a soft, controlled finish.

💨

Tailwind Bomber

The high glide and understable flight make the Hades a natural tailwind disc. Throw it into a tailwind and it floats forever — the glide does the work while the fade keeps it from turning into a roller.

👤

The Zeus Complement

Where the Zeus (12/5/-1/3) fights wind and finishes hard, the Hades flips and glides for easy distance. Together they cover the full spectrum of 12-speed lines — stable and understable in one rim feel.

🏌️

Accessible for Developing Arms

Intermediate players get real 12-speed distance from the Hades because the turn and glide compensate for lower arm speed. It's one of the easiest high-speed drivers to get flying correctly.

Popular

ESP

Premium • Grippy • Swirly Colors

Discraft's signature premium blend with excellent grip and attractive swirls. ESP Hades fly true to the numbers and season into even more workable lines over time. The default choice for most throwers.

Z Line

Premium • Durable • Slightly More Stable

Stiff and translucent with maximum durability. Z Hades hold their stability longer than ESP and resist early turn. A good pick if you want a Hades that doesn't get too flippy too fast.

Big Z

Premium • Gummy Feel • Bold Stamps

A slightly softer Z blend with standout artwork. Big Z Hades offer comfortable grip with premium durability. Flight sits between ESP and stock Z in terms of stability.

Z Lite

Premium • Lightweight • Extra Flip

Z durability in a lighter weight (typically 155–165g). Z Lite Hades flip earlier and glide longer — ideal for slower arms chasing max distance or players who want even more turn.

Titanium

Premium • Solid Feel • Consistent

Premium feel with solid grip and long-lasting flight. Titanium Hades resist wear and hold a predictable flight. A reliable option for players who want premium durability with a slightly firmer hand feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

They're designed as a pair. The Zeus (12/5/-1/3) is the stable-to-overstable workhorse for wind, forehands, and controlled fades. The Hades is the understable complement for hyzer-flips, turnovers, and effortless distance in calm air. Same rim feel, opposite flight shapes — many McBeth fans bag both.
At high power with a flat or anhyzer release, yes — the -3 turn can roll the Hades over. The fix is to throw it on hyzer and let the disc do the work. A slight hyzer release with nose-down angle produces the classic flip-to-flat bomb that the Hades is known for.
Less than you'd think for a 12-speed. The high glide and understable turn compensate for lower power. Players throwing 300+ feet can get full flights. Even 275-foot arms see real distance gains — just keep the nose down and start on hyzer. It's one of the most accessible high-speed drivers available.
One of the best. Advanced players love seasoned Hades runs for distance rollers. The -3 turn makes it easy to put on the ground, and the 2 fade gives it enough finish to come out of the roll predictably. ESP and Big Z beat into roller territory after a few months of use.
Z Line holds stability the longest — it's stiffer and seasons very slowly. If your ESP Hades is getting too flippy, a fresh Z Hades puts you back to the stock flight. Titanium also resists wear well. ESP and Big Z are grippier but beat in faster.
The Tern (12/6/-2/2) shares the same speed, glide, and fade but has one less point of turn. It's slightly more stable out of the box — better for players who want flip-up distance without as much risk of turning over. The Hades is flippier and more aggressive on turnovers. Both are excellent hyzer-flip bombers.
Not recommended. The -3 turn and 6 glide make the Hades very wind-sensitive. In headwinds it will flip and roll. Save it for calm conditions, tailwinds, and downwind bombers. For headwinds at this speed, reach for the Zeus, Destroyer, or another stable 12-speed.
