Flight Numbers

13Speed
4Glide
0Turn
4Fade

Discraft's most overstable distance driver. The Nuke OS takes the Nuke's 2.5 cm rim and strips away the turn, drops the glide, and cranks the fade to 4. The result is a meathook that refuses to turn over no matter how hard you throw it or how strong the headwind blows.

Why Throw the Nuke OS?

🌬️

Headwind Destroyer

Zero turn and 4 fade means the Nuke OS laughs at headwinds. Where understable and neutral drivers flip and burn, the Nuke OS holds its line and finishes left every time. It's the disc you throw into 30 mph gusts without thinking twice.

📌

Spike Hyzer Specialist

Throw the Nuke OS high on a steep hyzer and it crashes down hard on the spot you picked. The low glide and massive fade mean it doesn't carry past the target — it dumps and sticks. Essential for spike hyzers over obstacles and forced placement shots.

🤚

Forehand Meathook

The Nuke OS absorbs every ounce of sidearm torque without flinching. Throw it as hard as you want on forehand — it won't turn over. Power forehand throwers who flip other distance drivers use the Nuke OS as their go-to sidearm bomber in wind.

💪

Power Flex Lines

Elite arms can put the Nuke OS on anhyzer and watch it fight back for a massive flex shot. The 4 fade guarantees the disc comes back — no matter how much angle you give it. The flex potential is enormous for players who can get it up to speed.

Skip Shots with Authority

The low glide and overstable finish mean the Nuke OS hits the ground and skips hard left. Use it for skip shots around obstacles, into dogleg lefts, or any situation where you need the disc to bounce in a predictable direction after landing.

🧰

Utility Anchor

Every bag needs a disc that will always go left no matter what. The Nuke OS is that disc at 13 speed. It's not a max distance driver for most players — it's a tool. Headwinds, doglegs, dumps, skips, and any shot where you need absolute overstability.

Plastics

Popular

Z Line

Premium • Durable • Holds Stability

Discraft's most durable plastic and the primary blend for the Nuke OS. Z Line holds the 0/4 overstability for an extremely long time — the stiff plastic doesn't season, so the disc stays beefy throw after throw. The default choice for meathook reliability.

ESP

Premium • Grippy • Slightly Less Stable

Discraft's grippier premium blend with swirly colorways. ESP Nuke OS discs tend to fly a touch less overstable than Z and may beat in slightly over time. A good option if the Z version is too much meathook for your arm speed.

Z Lite

Premium • Lightweight • Accessible

Z durability in lighter weights (typically 155–165g). Z Lite Nuke OS discs are easier to get up to speed, making the overstable flight more accessible for moderate arms. A way to experience the Nuke OS without needing elite power.

Z FLX

Premium • Flexible • Soft Landing

A flexible version of Z plastic that adds grip and reduces ground play on landing. Z FLX Nuke OS discs sit and stick instead of skipping, which is useful when you want the overstable fade without the aggressive skip.

Frequently Asked Questions

All three share the same 2.5 cm speed-13 rim. The Nuke (13/5/-1/3) is the balanced workhorse with a touch of turn and dependable fade. The Nuke SS (13/5/-3/3) is the understable flippy bomber for hyzer-flips and easy distance. The Nuke OS (13/4/0/4) is the overstable meathook for headwinds, spike hyzers, and utility dumps. Same rim feel, three completely different flights. Many power throwers bag all three.
To see any forward distance, you need serious power — 375+ feet of arm speed. Below that, the Nuke OS will fade out almost immediately and dump hard left with very little forward push. That said, you don't need distance to use it — spike hyzers, forehand dumps, and skip shots work at any arm speed. It's a utility disc, not a bomber.
For max distance drives, yes — it'll just dump left and go nowhere. But intermediates can still use it for specific utility shots: headwind forehands, spike hyzers over trees, forced left finishes, and skip shots. Think of it as a specialized tool, not an every-hole driver. Even with a 300-foot arm, the Nuke OS has a job in the bag.
It's one of the best forehand discs in Discraft's lineup. The zero turn and 4 fade mean it absolutely cannot flip on even the hardest sidearm rips. Power forehand players who turn over other distance drivers often find the Nuke OS is the only 13-speed they trust for full-power forehand bombs in wind.
Both are 0-turn meathooks with 4 fade, but at different speeds. The Firebird (9/3/0/4) is a fairway-speed utility disc with a narrower rim — easier to control and more commonly used for approaches and shorter overstable shots. The Nuke OS (13/4/0/4) is a distance-speed version that carries farther before dumping. If you love the Firebird and want the same reliability at a faster speed, the Nuke OS is the answer.
In Z Line, barely. Z plastic is built to resist wear, and the Nuke OS's 0/4 flight is baked into the mold design, not just the plastic. It will soften very slightly over years of heavy use, but don't expect it to beat into a workable driver. ESP versions may lose a fraction of overstability over time. If you want a Nuke that beats in to straighter lines, start with the standard Nuke.
Headwind drives that need to finish left. Spike hyzers over obstacles. Forehand bombs into wind. Flex shots for players with 400+ foot arms. Skip shots that need to kick hard left on landing. Forced placement dumps on hard dogleg lefts. Any shot where you need the disc to absolutely, positively go left — guaranteed.
