Discraft Nuke
The Discraft Nuke is a wide-rim distance driver built for pure speed. It’s a big-arm bomber that wants full power. Give it height, let it glide, and trust the finish.
Flight: 13 | 5 | −1 | 3. The 2.5 cm rim helps it hold high speed longer than most drivers. Discraft Nuke overview
Why throw the Nuke?
- Chase maximum distance on open fairways.
- Get a fast push with reliable late fade.
- Handle torque on power backhands and forehands.
- Attack long hyzers and sweeping flex lines.
- Scale stability with weight and plastic choice.
Plastics
Z Line: Durable and stiff with a clean release. Great for keeping the Nuke’s stability longer.
ESP: Grippy premium blend with a touch more glide. It seasons into workable distance lines.
Big Z: Often a little gummier with strong durability. Expect easy speed and consistent finish.
Titanium: Premium feel with solid grip and longevity. A strong choice for power throwers.
Z FLX / ESP FLX: Added flex for cold weather and confident grip. Useful when you want more control.
Jawbreaker Z FLX: A Z FLX blend with Jawbreaker-style swirls. These are commonly seen in special runs.

FAQs
What’s the difference between the Nuke and the Nuke SS?
The Nuke is the more stable option at high speed. The Nuke SS is designed to turn more and hyzer-flip easier. If you’re fighting early fade, the SS is usually the better fit.
How much power do I need to throw a Discraft Nuke well?
The wide rim rewards fast arm speed and clean form. If you throw underpowered, it can fade early and dump left. Many players get the best results once they can consistently push drivers past 350 feet.
Is the Nuke good for forehand throws?
Yes, if you like a wide rim and a fast release. It can take forehand torque and still fade reliably. Choose a more stable plastic and heavier weight if you tend to roll your wrist.
Which plastic is best for windy rounds?
Z Line and Titanium tend to hold stability longer and resist unwanted turn. If you want extra grip in cold weather, consider a FLX blend. In strong headwinds, lean heavier and more overstable.
What weight should I choose for the Nuke?
Heavier weights (170–175g) usually fly more stable and handle wind better. Mid weights (165–169g) can add workable turn for extra distance. Lighter Nukes can bomb, but they’re touchier in wind.

I love this disc. However, in a headwind, it really flips. Just interesting, but great disc.
I bag 3 Jawbreaker X flx Nukes and these things go farrrrr perfect for a sidearm not good for little hands though.
The disccraft Nuke is my go to distance driver. If I'm looking for a slight turn over to get me that extra but of distance to the basket I'll choose the Nuke everytime.
