Latitude 64 Opto Air Plastic
Opto Air is the same durable Opto plastic, moulded to come out lighter. The process keeps solid plastic at the rim edge and lightens the centre, so the disc holds sensible weight distribution instead of simply being a thin, floppy version of itself.
What the weight does
Less mass means less effort to get the disc up to speed, and that turns into glide and distance for anyone whose arm speed is the limiting factor. The trade is wind: a lighter disc gets pushed around more, so expect extra turn and real difficulty holding a line into a headwind.
Feel and durability
Hand feel is Opto — firm, smooth, translucent. Durability is good for the weight, though any disc with less plastic in it has less to absorb a tree strike than its full-weight twin.
Best uses
New and youth players, anyone returning to the game, and seasoned players who want a dedicated turnover or roller disc. Pick the lightest weight you can still control rather than the lightest on the shelf.
