Discmania Glacier

Discmania Glacier is Gannon Buhr’s Creator Series midrange for players who want one mid to do almost everything. It is straight-to-overstable. It stays calm under power. It finishes with a small, forward push.

The Glacier is built for “hit the gap” golf. It is fast for a midrange. It also has torque resistance you can trust. If you lean on mids for placement, this mold fits that job.

The feel is modern and comfortable. Discmania describes a low profile with a beadless, concave rim. That shape helps the disc come out clean. It also helps you keep the nose down on lasers.

Thrown flat, the Glacier tracks straight with a steady glide. It does not drift right for long. It stays honest through the middle. Then it finishes with a controlled fade that keeps pushing forward.

On hyzer, it carries before it breaks. You can throw it low. You can also throw it on a rope. This is great when you need a mid that will not float long.

On anhyzer, the Glacier prefers a flex line. Give it a little height. Let it pan without burning over. It will fight out late and land predictably.

This is also a great mid for forehands. The torque resistance keeps it from turning and burning. It is a smart choice for low-ceiling flicks. It also works for short forehand drives that must finish on time.

Wind is where the Glacier earns its slot. In a light headwind, it stays usable. It will not flip like a neutral mid. You still get a clean finish when the air gets weird.

If you like the MD3, the Glacier feels like a stronger “pressure” version. If you like the Method, the Glacier is straighter and longer. It bridges those roles when you want control first.

Flight: 5 | 5 | 0 | 2. A straight-to-stable midrange that handles power and finishes forward. Official Glacier overview.

FAQs

Glacier vs MD3: do I need both, or can the Glacier replace it?

If you love the MD3 flight, the Glacier can cover that slot with a bit more “hold up” under power. Keep both if you like cycling stability. Bag Glacier for wind and pressure throws, and MD3 for pure point-and-shoot lines.

Is the Discmania Glacier actually a good “one-disc midrange” for a minimalist bag?

Yes, if you like stable mids. You can throw it flat for straight shots. You can throw hyzer for safe placement. You can also flex it on anhyzer when you need movement and a dependable finish.

How do I throw the Glacier low without it fading early?

Keep the nose down and commit to the line. Throw it flat with clean spin. The Glacier likes smooth power, not forced power. If it fades early, you likely released nose up.

What’s the best Glacier line for a guarded green on a fast surface?

Use a flat laser with a controlled finish. Aim to land short and let the forward fade walk it in. Avoid high floaty shots on fast greens. The Glacier is built to stay lower and more direct.

Is the Glacier a good forehand midrange for tight gaps?

Yes. It handles torque well and finishes predictably. It is great for straight flicks that must finish left late. It also works for short flex forehands around trouble.
