Flight Numbers

13Speed
5Glide
-1Turn
3Fade

Discraft's max-distance bomber. The wide 2.5 cm rim maintains top-end velocity deep into the flight — give it height, let it push, and trust the fade to bring it back.

Why Throw the Nuke?

💣

Maximum Distance Potential

Speed 13 with a 2.5 cm rim means the Nuke holds velocity longer than most drivers. When thrown with authority, it covers serious ground before the fade even starts.

💨

Reliable Late Fade

The Nuke pushes straight through the power zone, then finishes with a dependable fade. You can count on the finish — it doesn't dump early and doesn't turn over on full-power rips.

🌬️

Handles Wind and Torque

With a stability rating of 1.6 and a fade of 3, the Nuke fights headwinds and shrugs off forehand torque. Heavy weights in premium plastic hold their line in conditions that flip other drivers.

🔀

Flex Line Machine

Release on hyzer and let the -1 turn stand it up for a long S-curve that still finishes left. The Nuke's combination of speed and fade creates textbook flex shots that cover the full fairway.

🤚

Forehand Powerhouse

The wide rim and overstable finish make the Nuke a go-to for sidearm bombers. It resists wrist roll, stays flat through the power pocket, and fades predictably at the end.

Tour-Proven Legacy

Thrown by Ezra Aderhold and trusted by power throwers worldwide. The Nuke has been one of Discraft's most popular drivers for years — it earns its bag spot round after round.

Plastics

Popular

Z Line

Premium • Stiff • Translucent

Discraft's most durable blend. Stiff and translucent with a clean release feel. Z Nukes hold their stability the longest and season very slowly — the default choice for most throwers.

ESP

Premium • Grippy • Swirly

Advanced polymer with a tackier feel and attractive color swirls. ESP Nukes start slightly less stable than Z and season into workable distance lines over time. Great all-around premium option.

Big Z

Premium • Gummy • Bold Stamps

A slightly softer Z blend with standout artwork. Big Z Nukes offer easy speed and a consistent finish with a touch more flex in the hand than stock Z.

Z Lite

Premium • Lightweight • Extra Glide

Z durability in a lighter weight (typically 155–165g). Adds workable turn and extra carry for players who want Nuke distance without needing elite arm speed.

Z Swirl — Ezra Tour Series

Tour Series • Enhanced Grip • Limited

Premium swirly Z with extra grip and eye-catching colorways. Tuned for Ezra Aderhold's power game. Expect a slightly different feel from stock Z — a collector and performer in one.

Titanium

Premium • Solid Feel • Long-Lasting

Premium feel with solid grip and top-tier longevity. Titanium Nukes resist wear and hold a consistent flight. A strong choice for power throwers who want a disc that stays true.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most players get the best results once they can push drivers past 350 feet consistently. Below that, the Nuke tends to fade out early without showing its full flight. If it's dumping left every throw, you likely need more speed or a lighter weight.
All three share a speed-13, 2.5 cm rim. The Nuke (13/5/-1/3) is the balanced workhorse. The Nuke SS (13/5/-3/3) adds more turn for hyzer-flips and easier distance. The Nuke OS (13/4/0/4) is the overstable utility version for headwinds and spike hyzers. Many power throwers bag all three.
The Destroyer (12/5/-1/3) shares identical glide, turn, and fade but sits one speed slower with a narrower rim. Both are elite power drivers. The Nuke pushes faster with more rim, while the Destroyer may feel more controllable. Many players carry both for slightly different distance slots.
Two common causes: not enough arm speed to activate the -1 turn, or throwing with too much nose-up angle. Try a lighter weight or ESP plastic for more workability. Focus on a nose-down release and letting the disc get up to speed before expecting it to push forward.
Max weight (170–175g) flies more stable and handles wind better. Mid weights (165–169g) add workable turn for longer flights. Z Lite weights (155–163g) open the Nuke up to moderate arm speeds. Choose based on how much stability you need and how fast you throw.
It's one of the most popular forehand distance drivers in the game. The wide rim and overstable finish resist wrist roll and torque. Heavier Z Line or Titanium Nukes are the top forehand choices — they stay flat through the power pocket and fade predictably.
Z Lite is the most accessible — lighter weight makes it easier to get up to speed. ESP is also a good starting point since it's grippier and slightly less stable than Z. That said, beginners may get better results with a slower driver until their arm speed catches up.
