Discraft Passion

Discraft Passion is a straight-flying fairway driver designed for control and clean shaping. It’s part of Paige Pierce’s signature lineup. It rewards smooth form more than brute force.

The Passion lives in the “throw it hard, keep it straight” lane. It is fast enough to push for real distance. It still feels point-and-shoot like a slower fairway.

Thrown flat, it wants to glide forward with minimal drift. You get a gentle, forward finish instead of a sharp dump. That makes it easy to aim at a landing zone and trust the result.

Give it a small hyzer and it becomes a consistent hyzer-flip disc. It stands up, rides straight, and settles softly. This is a great way to carve narrow fairways without forcing an anhyzer.

Need a right-moving backhand that holds the turn. The Discraft Passion will do it with a smooth release. It prefers “angle control” turnovers, not panic torque. Give it height and it will keep panning.

For forehands, it shines as a control driver when you do not want a violent fade. It handles clean sidearm torque well. It still finishes gently, so it stays in the fairway.

Wind matters with any neutral fairway. In calm air, it feels laser-straight. In a headwind, it will show more turn. If the wind is up, add hyzer or choose a more stable option.

If you are building a fairway lineup, the Passion can be your straight centerpiece. It sits between very understable fairways and stable, harder-fading fairways. Many players call it “dead straight” when thrown clean.

Flight: 8 | 5 | −1 | 1. Neutral control with glide, workable turn, and a soft finish for fairway placement. Official Passion overview

FAQs

Passion vs Cicada: which one should I bag?

Both are straight and workable. Cicada is slower and feels more “fairway.” Passion is faster and pushes farther with similar control. Choose Passion when you want more carry without losing placement.

Passion vs Undertaker: what’s better for wind?

The Undertaker is the more wind-friendly choice. The Passion is straighter in calm air and easier to shape. If you play in steady wind, Undertaker is the safer main fairway.

Which Passion plastic should I choose for the straightest flight?

Start with ESP for balanced grip and workability. Choose Z when you want a firmer feel and long-term consistency. If you want easier distance, Z Lite can help you access the full flight sooner.

How do I throw the Passion for a dead-straight tunnel shot?

Throw it smooth and flat with the nose down. Focus on spin, not extra arm speed. If it fades early, add a touch of anhyzer or try a lighter weight.

Is the Discraft Passion a good “first control driver” for intermediate players?

Yes. It is fast enough to stretch distance, but it does not demand perfect power. Intermediates can use it for straight shots, hyzer-flips, and gentle turnovers as form improves.
