Flight Numbers
Discraft's most understable midrange. The Stratus turns right on command with barely any fade, making it the go-to disc for beginners learning to throw, experienced players shaping turnovers, and anyone who needs a midrange that commits fully to the anhyzer side without fighting back.
Why Throw the Stratus?
Maximum Turnover Ability
At -4 turn with only 1 fade, the Stratus turns harder than any other Discraft midrange. Throw it flat and it drifts right. Throw it on anhyzer and it pans for days without fighting back. When you need a midrange that goes right, the Stratus is the answer.
The Beginner Confidence Disc
New players who can't get discs to fly straight usually have an overstability problem. The Stratus solves it — its extreme understability compensates for low arm speed, keeping the disc airborne and moving forward instead of fading into the dirt after 100 feet.
Effortless Hyzer-Flips
Start on slight hyzer and the Stratus pops to flat on its own with barely any power. It rides straight on the flip and drifts forward with a soft finish. It's one of the easiest midranges to hyzer-flip in disc golf — perfect for learning the technique.
Woods Touch Shots
Need to bend a midrange right through a gap at 175 feet? The Stratus does it on a smooth, low-power throw. No big run-up, no forced angle — just aim, release on anhyzer, and the disc carves around the obstacle with finesse.
Short-Range Roller
The extreme turn puts the Stratus on edge with minimal effort. For short rollers around obstacles at 75–150 feet, the wide midrange diameter gives predictable ground play. Beaten-in Stratus discs become dedicated roller tools.
Tailwind Approach Tool
The understable flight and manageable speed make the Stratus useful for tailwind approaches. It floats forward without ballooning and stays on line with soft, minimal fade. A specialty tool that earns its bag spot in the right conditions.
Plastics
X Line
Midgrade • Grippy • All-WeatherDiscraft's midgrade baseline — more durable than Pro-D with good grip even when wet. X Line Stratus discs fly true to the numbers and provide consistent performance at an affordable price. The standard production plastic for this mold.
ESP
Premium • Swirly • Limited RunsDiscraft's signature premium blend in special edition and Ledgestone runs. ESP Stratus discs are grippier and more durable than X Line, with swirly colorways. They may fly slightly more stable out of the box and hold their flight longer through use.
Titanium Colorshift
Ultra-Premium • Color-Shifting • 2026 LedgestoneDiscraft's premium Titanium in a color-shifting finish — the 2026 Ledgestone edition. Titanium holds stability well and feels solid in hand. The colorshift effect changes appearance in different lighting. A collector's option with premium flight.
